I wanna: Re-build the Kernel to match my machine's hardware
 

Hi,

I've got a Toshiba Satellite A100-207 with no hardware modifications except an extra 512 of RAM (so it has 1.5GB in total).
I'm running Ubuntu 6.10, and although everything runs perfectly I'd like to rebuild my kernel so it only supports the hardware I have - I'm sure it'd run quicker if it wasn't having to load up loads of hardware drivers I don't use.
I know how to re-compile the kernel (there's a great thread on the Ubuntu Forum for this) but I don't know how to identify which options are necessary for my hardware.
Is there a way to find out which kernel options my hardware is currently using, perhaps a built-in command or one I can DL that'll give me this info - I've been searching everywhere (various forums, kernel.org, google etc, but to no avail).
Surely it isn't just me who wants to do this!

Use the information gathered for you already, by typing commands such as;

lspci
cat /proc/modules
