i need to trace functions of ext4 and btrfs


hello, i am doing this project to trace the functions of file systems in Linux specifically Ext4 and Btrfs (particularly i am interested in their read and write part).
So I have downloaded the source code of the kernel version i want but i am confused how to do the tracing. i read some stuffs about ftrace and even the pritnk function... care to help anyone please, i am stuck
