Hot to Boot fedora without video card only terminal

Hello,

I being trying to boot fedora core 5 without video card without being sucessfull, Everytime I disable the video card it does not boot. I need this for a special application where I have to run a headless server. This one will have no video card only an com port wich I already have running. The problem comes when I disable the video card fedora does not boot. If I have video enable then fedora boots find and display console in video and terminal.

I would advise you use a Linux distribution that is not completely based on X for headless server. Like Slackware or Debian.

That said, are you sure the problem isn't the mainboard itself? Some new boards don't boot without a video card present, or are you not actually removing it?

Or perhaps you could set Fedora to boot into a different runlevel, one without X.
