High Resolution Timers

Hello All,

I need some help on High Resolution Timers in Linux. ._POSIX_TIMERS

I have to implement a scheduler kind of application which shall receive several absolute/relative times as input from other components and send triggers to them. I am using Posix timers for the same as the same gives me granularity till 1o millisecond. I may need to schedule thousands of such timers expiring at various times. I have written sample programs to use and schedule such timers. I am using SIGEV_THREAD mechanism to get the timer expiry as singals are not reliable.

But I am not able to find how many timers can I create at a time in a process and how many (maximum) call back threads would it create at expiry of timers for a process.

If any one has done any research on the same or used the same, I would appreciate that. There is not much help available on the internet as this has been introduced after 2.4.20 version of kernel.

Expecting a response!

Regards,
Sachin

http://www.linuxselfhelp.com/HOWTO/m...ramming-4.html
http://www.opengroup.org/onlinepubs/...ck_getres.html
http://high-res-timers.sourceforge.net/
http://sourceforge.net/projects/high-res-timers
