Help! tunning .config for Asus P4S8X-X mother

hi, I would be happi if i get some help here on the "device drivers" topic of the menuconfig of 2.6.17.11 kernel configuration. I have recompiled it several times becouse i want to get my pen drive to work.
some time ago i disabled all SCSI capabilities and now i need them.
since i have to rebuild i wanted to tune it and screwed it up.
so can any body tell me how to compile the optimum kernel for a work station:
Asus P4S8X-X
256 MB RAM
80 Gb ATA
Nvidia Gforce-4 MX 64Mb
Pentium P4 2.66 GHz
i dont know enough to do the right think in "device drivers".
Thanks!
