FC5 new kernel: D-Link DWL-650 wifi adaptor stopped working
I am running Fedora Core 5. The new kernel update is kernel-2.6.16-1.2096_FC5.
After the upgrade, my wifi adaptor D-Link DWL-650 stopped working. It looks like the support is not built into the kernel, at least it no longer shows in the drop-down list in the network configuration utility. Is this a bug in the new kernel? Would a kind soul point me to a road map of how to bring the wifi adaptor back? In a far away past, I used to do it by hand using the wlan drivers, but support has been built-in for a while the FC kernels I used. Thanks in advance. |
How are you accessing the wifi adapter? Sounds like a driver reinstall is needed.
To check kernel level support - I like to install the kernel source then "make gconfig" and go look through the tree. |
