Errors when waking up from suspend/sleep (Mint 19 Mate, 4.15.0.42)

Just built a new PC and was testing out the sleep functionality. I can put the computer to sleep, but upon waking up, I get some looping CPU? errors (see image below).

Not sure if this a bug or not, but any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi mc88,

Welcome to LQ.

The error seems to point to your wireless networking adapter (these are notoriously finicky during suspend-resume cycles ...). You may want to try experimenting with unloading the module (iwlwifi) before suspending and see if there is any difference in experience ... Or physically remove the card entirely if it is possible (if it is not an on-system-board-chipset) and do the same.

Cheers.

Hot damn! You're a lifesaver. The problem was indeed my motherboard's onboard WIFI. Thankfully, I don't use it.

I believe this is the culprit:

Code:
Card-1: Intel Device a370 driver: iwlwifi bus-ID: 00:14.3
I was unable to unload the iwlwifi module (kept getting an rmmod ERROR that it was in use). So instead, I blacklisted it (not sure if this is the best approach):
Code:
echo "blacklist iwlwifi" >> /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf
Rebooted and made it sure it was unloaded. Then put it to sleep. And now it wakes up!

Thanks Rickkkk!
