Enabling FrameBuffer in WindRiver Linux

Hi All,

I am using a WindRiver Linux distribution in my organisation.
The OS we are using is without Xwindow support it will run only in command mode..

Now I am trying to install this WRL os in VMware and need to play some graphics without X window.

For that I am trying to enable frame buffer in WRL.
I have compiled the WRL kernel for framebuffer and updated the kernel.

Now I need to check whether framebuffer is really enabled or not in this.

We do not have any graphical or video inputs to check the framebuffer.

How can we confirm that framebuffer is enabled in this OS ??

Thanks in advance
Sridhar

with framebuffer, you should be able to set a screensize of 132x85 or something ridiculous like that. They have lists of the ridiculous modes framebuffer supports.

Try passing "vga=791" to the kernel line at your bootloader config file
