difference between gcore utility & gdb gcore command

Hi. Is there any difference between the two? It seems that the checksums of the files produced by either one are different.

If there are differences, what are they?

TIA!

Code:
host:~/bin> sum core.gcore.18290
04385 36265
host:~/bin> sum core.gdb
49718 36265
