dead usb mouse, though driver is present


Hya,

situation While trimming kernel on an old laptop,

simptom Dead usb mouse, when lshw says driver (usbhid) is present, without any obvious message under /var/log.

solution Do not unselect hid_generic.

take home message Read kernel document, "input.rst"

closing remark Have a happy penguin!

I forgot to post that
while the usb mouse is dead, touchbad works. (this is a kind of confusing)
