hi

grub legacy or grub2?

2) what are your partitions formatted with? as ext4 and grub2 for /boot do not play together atm

3) when you compiled does your distro produce a log?

b) have you compiled before?

c) did you remember to compile into the kernel the filesystem format for your /boot and / partitions eg ext3...or did you remember to make initrd?

4) pls name your distro and provide a link to what documents you are following pls
