Boot failure after kernel update

I was installing a program that needed to update the kernel version for RedHat (from 2.6.32-279.el6.x86_64 to 2.6.32-279.5.2.el6.x86_64 . Installation was completed successfully along with the update process. However, when the system rebooted, it couldn't boot again , it's giving me the "Boot failure : red hat enterprise" message.

I appreciate your help,

You might want to boot the server into rescue mode and check the grub configuration is intact.
