Zoom 3049 and SuSE 8.2 Pro

After fooling around with PCI modems, I've decided to try the highly-reccommended external ones. I purchased a Zoom 3049 modem for my SuSE 8.2 Pro OS. Has anyone had experience with this hardware configuration, and if so, exactly what configuration steps are necessary to get this up and running. I haven't had time to try anything yet, but advise up-front would be appreciated. Thanks!

hook it up and turn it on. launch yast2, select network devices->modem. it should autodetect it. then follow the prompts/ fill in the info. for normal isp's select PAP and set stupid mode on.

I just bought a 3049C modem and that's exactly what I did. I didn't need to install any software or anything and it works great!! :) I'm finally on the net in SuSE!!!!!!!!
