Zombie printer just won't DIE

I have a printer that is connected to a Raspberry Pi (serving as an AirPrint print server so we can print from our iPhones and iPads). It isn't working so I reinstalled and the reinstalled printer works fine. Problem is, the old one is the only one that shows up when I try to print from an iOS device. I'm hopeful that deleting the old one will cause the new one to become available but every time I delete it - in the Linux Mint Printers utility or in CUPS - it just comes right back. I have no idea why. Help?

Is it CUPS auto discovery of IPP network printers, or those advertising by way of DNS-SD perhaps? That can be inhibited if desired.

These may be of interest...
