Zip Drive - 2 icons on desktop

Loaded Mandrake 10, I have a PP zip drive - but somehow I have 2 icons on the desktop
one is call 'zip disk (part 4)' and the other is called 'zip disk (sda4)'

the mandrake control center has the zip drive as
Bus: ?SCSI

Location on the bus: ?0:6:0

Channel: ?00

New devfs device: ?/dev/scsi/host0/bus0/target6/lun0/part4

Old device file: ?/dev/sda4

Floppy format: ?IOMEGA ZIP 100

Media class: ?hd

and fstab has the following

/dev/hda1 / ext3 defaults 1 1
none /dev/pts devpts mode=0620 0 0
/dev/hda6 /home ext3 defaults 1 2
/dev/hdb /mnt/cdrom auto umask=0,user,iocharset=iso8859-1,codepage=850,noauto,ro,exec 0 0
/dev/hdd /mnt/cdrom2 auto umask=0,user,iocharset=iso8859-1,codepage=850,noauto,ro,exec 0 0
none /mnt/floppy supermount dev=/dev/fd0,fs=ext2:vfat,--,umask=0,iocharset=iso8859-1,sync,codepage=850 0 0
none /mnt/zip supermount dev=/dev/sda4,fs=auto,--,umask=0,iocharset=iso8859-1,codepage=850 0 0
none /proc proc defaults 0 0
none /mnt/zip2 supermount dev=/dev/scsi/host0/bus0/target6/lun0/part4,fs=ext2:vfat,--,umask=0,iocharset=iso8859-1,kudzu,codepage=850 0 0

how do I get rid of the second Icon. I must have made a link of some kind - but I am a total

If I right click the icon i only get open and properties options

TIA

Steve

SuSE 9.0 does that to me when I plug in my jumpdrive into a USB port. Two icons come up (eventually), both pointing to my external Maxtor drive, and oddly enough one of the links works.

Things eventually get sorted out and the icon gets renamed to /dev/sda1. Strange...

It's got something to do with the automount daemon I assume, but since it works, I don't fool with it.

What does this have to do with you?

If it works...

In your case Mandy is probably trying to give you a mounting option that either doesn't exist (or on that you aren't interested in at least).

And the obvious question is "have you tried deleting the icon?"

Yes I have tried to delete - but unable to do so - right clicking on the icon doesn't give me the option to do so...
I have also tried to delete the reference to the zip drive in fstab - this removes the icons until I put a disk in the zip drive then both icon show up

anyone....

Thx
Steve

Take your mouse and click outside of the icon, drag it across, and unclick. Now hit delete. This works in kde.
