0ACE:1201 is the device i have. i have confirmed this from windows inf file that i have.

however, kernel 2.6.10 doesnt recognize this. im very fed up with this.

instead it directs to intel triton usb controller which is understandable since the device goes through usbcore then through another usb port (since it has a cable with a port that the device is plugged onto). but the problem remains how usb controller fails to recognize 0ACE:1201. interestingly in /sys... i have found a file product with content 'WLAN USB'. so i dont think it is anything wrong with usb-ehci controller but rather how my prism2_usb driver is incompatible in communicating with usb controller in kernel.

i dont have enough expert knowledge to hack to fix my driver. plz help.

I don't know if this will be much help, but if the system is loading the wrong module (driver intel triton usb controller?) for your device you should be able to blacklist it in hotplug. There is a file that is probably located at /etc/hotplug/blacklist that you can just add the module it is trying to load. This may or may not get it to actually load the proper module, but it will eliminate the wrong one from being loaded.
