Yet, another problem with Wireless card on Ubuntu 5.10

Hi all
I am new to linux so please try to explain the steps as must as possible Thank you.
I just installed ubuntu 5.10 on my desktop which has a SMC2802W wireless card on it (the only NIC) and the problem is, well, not working.
when i got to device manager, it has a entry of Intersil ISL3890[Prism GT/Prism] which has a networking interface as a sub entry. inside the description, the device type and capabilites was nuknown.

then i go to network tools, it says no network devices found.

During the installation, it asked for SSID and password, i typed it in and it says it doesn't work, so i skipped that step. Now everytime i log in, it has a pop up saying it doesn't connect to internet and problems may occur because of that.

that as must i can think of now. can anyone help me get this thing working?
