Yet another intermittent lockup problem
I'm getting very intermittent lockups with suse10.0. These are very intermittent, which leads me to believe it is hardware related. Here's a brief hardware profile:
Dell dimension 8400
p4 3.0ghz HT
Radeon X300 GPU (pci-e)
WD caviar 160GB sata drive
linksys wmp54g WLAN card
Aside from a 20gb maxtor ide drive and the WLAN card, the system is as it is from the factory. Sometimes the system will stay up for a day or two, sometimes only a couple hours. It always crashes when it is idle, but sometimes while the monitor is in powersave mode, sometimes not. There is nothing in any of my logs that would point me in the right direction (nothing I could notice anyway). My first guess would be the ATi drivers, but they are all up to date and for the most part working properly (no 3D, and TV out isn't working properly. I don't have a need for either of those though, so I havent done much to get them working). If it's not the ATi drivers, then it could be the ndiswrapper drivers for the WLAN card. I've heard of people having problems with the ndiswrapper and an SMP kernel. The wrapper works fine, but I have to modprobe after each power cycle before I have network connectivity.
I don't know where to even start looking for this problem, so any help would be great. That or hurry up and get 10.1 out!
