Xubuntu: Printer removal
How do I remove a printer in Xubuntu. The printer driver has to be removed. I inadvertently installed the wrong driver as the right driver (I installed LSB first, it's an Epson XP-352 355 Series). I have repeatedly removed and reinstalled the right driver.

shakespeare1,
Welcome to LQ forums.
To remove the wrong Epson driver(s) open Synaptic Package manager and search for software beginning epson, such as epson-printer-utility or epson-inkjet-printer, then remove them.
Start > Settings Manager > Printers > Remove current printer.
Then start again.

Already did that, have removed
epson-inkjet-printer-201203w 1.0.0-1lsb3.2
epson-inkjet-printer-201215w 1.0.0-1lsb3.2
epson-inkjet-printer-escpr 1.7.6-1lsb3.2
epson-printer-utility 1.1.0.1lsb3.2
Should I remove the other Epson drivers like epson-inkjet-printer-201215w (1.0.0-1lsb3.2) and printer-driver-escpr, and the various scanner drivers?

I would remove all references to Epson and start from scratch.

Still does not work.
The XP 355 is an old printer, so I thought that it would be supported under linux. Perhaps there is a problem with the Epson-XP-352-355 driver itself. Have you had success with it?

I have not used that particular printer but I have successfully set up other Epson printers for Linux users.
Epson lists Linux drivers for this particular model, so it should work.
Have a look at this link (scroll down to post #12 by Mark Greaves):
https://linuxforums.org.uk/index.php?topic=13395.0
For the benefit of others with an Epson 352 or 355:
Go to:
Menu > Settings > Printers
Right-click on any listed printers and click "Delete."
When you have NO printers left, go here:
http://download.ebz.epson.net/dsc/se...search/?OSC=LX
and search for
XP-355.
Linux.
You now need to download the files (the first is more recent, dated 11-11-2019):
epson-inkjet-printer-escpr_1.7.6-1lsb3.2_i386.deb
and
epson-printer-utility_1.1.0-1lsb3.2_amd64.deb
and double-click them to install them (or use Gdebi).
Once installed, go back to:
Menu > Settings > Printers
and click "Add."
Step through the installation .. when it prompts you to choose a driver, select:
Epson > XP-352 355 > Epson XP-352 355 Series - epson-inkjet-printer-escpr_1.7.6-1lsb3.2_i386.deb (Seiko Epson Corporation LSB 3.2) [en] (recommended)

On following your advice, when I "Print Test Page" I get stripes. The stripes are patterned, almost as if the print heads are missing a line every time, but the text is clear enough.
