xubuntu and mouse problem

Hi to the nice team. I have a new problem when i launh my lovely xubuntu the ps/2 mouse doesnt work. The mouse is optical and i can see the read light on so i think it is propely connected. I think something must not be properly configured on my X environment. Do u have any good suggestion in mind?
