Xorg Refresh Rate

How can I make Xorg choose a nonoptimal refresh rate for my monitor?

I have a dual-monitor setup, and due to magnetic interference, any refresh rate higher than 60Hz has horrible flickering on my CRT. 60Hz, however, looks fine. Xorg is all automated, however, and always picks the highest refresh that my monitor can do!

I tried getting a custom modeline and putting it in, but the xorg just didn't put anything at all on the second monitor, restricting my desktop to my lcd.

You can see me xorg.conf at http://kundor.org/xorg.conf

Thanks.

Just being able to disable one specific predefined modeline would do the trick. Is there any way to do that?

Never mind, it's been fixed.

(For any interested -- I just lied about my monitor's capabilities and specified VertRefresh 50-60.)

Re: Refresh Rate

I, too, have posted issues with the "defaulted" refresh rates chosen by slack 10. I say "default" because I am really unsure how the refresh rate "chosen" by the system relates to the monitor vert and horizonal rates I implemented into xorgconf. My monitor resolution is the same that you had for your monitor, although my monitor can exceed a number of times. My monitor is a Viewsonic G220f, with horizonal sync rate of 30 to 110 Hz, and the vertical sync is 30 to 110Hz. For some reason I have a "default" refresh rate of 86 Hz, why? The flicker is very annoying

Can I request some assistance with this?

Thanks!
