XMMS player problem.......

hi my frienz,,,,,,,,,,,

i use XMMS player to listen to mp3 songs!.. it plays good.. sometimes it is getting hanged in the middle while playing. when i try to stop it or close the XMMS it is not closing. so i use Xkill to close kill the application.

After this when i start the XMMS again, it is not opening.. i have to reboot the PC to start the XMMS....

in the terminal when i look for the XMMS, it is displayin that it is running & it was aborted.....

any solution 4 this??????

1) make sure xmms isn't running. Do "ps -C xmms" to get the PID and do "kill -kill <pid>" to kill it.

2) try running xmms in a terminal and watch for error messages on stdout

3) Make sure you're using the appropriate audio output plugin ( oss, arts, esd, alsa).
