Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

Xinerama

hi
after struggling with my problem (which no1 seems to be able to help with):

http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...hreadid=238595

im wondering if its going to be easier to go and get an old graphics card for a few quid (as my second monitor wont be doing anything graphic intensive),
and then set it up with Xinerama.

Is this going to be easier than setting up dual head with the ATI drivers?

Also is there anyway that my main screen (as its bigger) can have a better resolution than the second monitor ie: 1280x960 on the first and 1024x768 on the second without any problems?

Kane
