XFree86.0.log file growing during normal use to several Gig.

The XFree86.0.log file grows during normal use to several Gig. Believe it is related to the multiscreen graphics card running cirrus logic GD5480 chipset. Tried a few fixes but nothing seems to clear it. Tried using the card in several computers but all with the same problem. Using a new savage chipset set multiport card I have no problems. Any assistance would be really useful

Could be a buggy driver or chipset.
Are the messages which fill the log all the same?
Preceded with (EE) ?
What do you notice is consistent in the log?

The log seems to fill up with a load of text either minl(XX) or moutl(XX) where XX is a number. The text keeps getting added till the log file is so large it causes the box to reset and clear out the file. I have tried to load somenew software that allegedly could fix the problem but it didn't make any difference. I have not been able to find any driver software on Cirrus logics website or that of the card maker.(colorgraphics)
