Hi Everyone
Can anyone tell where I might get a driver for a Xerox 4300 Flatbed scanner to work with Linux I've tried the xerox support site and where ever else I can think but no luck any help or advice would be appreciated thanks
Have you tried running xsane to see if it is picked up? What is the full name (model name and number) of this scanner?
Hi Xavier
Thanks for the response It's a Xerox One Touch 4800 Flatbed Scanner (I know I said 4300 in my earlier post that was a typing error sorry)Picture at this link http://www.amazon.co.uk/Xerox-4800-F.../dp/B0001JZRFS.
I Tried running xsane it comes up with no devices available
All it means is that it is unsupported right now, it may well become supported in the near future. I'd suggest regularly checking back to see if it becomes supported. In the meantime you could look into using Wine or a virtual machine to try to get it working - it woould make for a bit of a hack, but only you know if it's worth it.
Thanks xavier for your time and help it's appreciated, I don't really want to go down the wine or virtual machine route I want to try to make things work natively if possible it's really not that big an issue it works ok with windows just a bit disappointing thats all Thanks again for your help
