xawtv: Strange Behavior

Hi,
I have a Cyberlink TV Tuner Card which works fine on Linux except that I have to run it in Windows first (!!!!!) and then come back to Linux to make it work.
First I thought it was just an odd behavior, but then I tested it in a scientifc manner and EVERY time the result is same: xawtv refuses to work if I go directly to Linux; it works PERFECTLY once I have run the TV Program in WIndows and then booted back in Linux.

Any thoughts on this

Thankx in advance...
