Hi
I just installed VectorLinux 4.0 on this system:
Intel Pentium III 550E MHz
Procomp BIW2B (i810) (Intel AC'97 audio, Intel 810 video)
64MB SDR (63 + 1 VRAM)
ViewSonic E640N (14")
VectorLinux 4.0 kernel (2.4.22)
VL got installed fine, more or less, few i810-tco.o errors but nothing fatal. At the first boot I did
startx and the monitor went out of sync. I guess it tried to go into 1024x768 at over 60 hz because that's the max the monitor supports - i used it recently on Windows and i could get 800x600 @ 72, and 1024x768 at 60.
I tried making changes to /etc/X11/XF86config .. after refresh rate changes I removed the entire 1024x768 portion but it still goes out of sync.
What I'm looking for: A very basic 800x600@60Hz XF86config section that i can try and work my way up from ..
Thanks...
