Here is the problem. When I try running one of the Java3D demos (https://j3d-webstart.dev.java.net/test/) it only WORKS ON THE FIRST RUN. The second time I run one of the demos X crashes . These demos work fine on windows on the same computer.

I am running Mandriva 2007 without any updates.

Went to the site and runned most of the demos. Many more than once. Never crashed on mine.
I am using java 1.5.0.8. Which version do you have? ' java -version '
Video is an ATI radeon 9000m and run on both the kernel ATI module and the ATI drivers. No issues either way.
Using Xorg 6.8.2
Under KDE 3.5.1

I would check your versions of the above and maybe look into upgrading.

java

I don't think it matters what java version this is.

# java -version

java version "1.5.0_09"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.5.0_09-b03)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.5.0_09-b03, mixed mode, sharing)

You should look at the backtrace above. It seems to me that java is not involved. The reason why I talk about java3d demos here is because thats how I found the bug in the first place.
