Wrong Processor Speed in Slackware 9.1

Hi there,
I have the following hardware:

Compaq Amrmada M700 laptop
Intel PIII 650MHz
192Mb RAM
40Gig HDD

My question is:

Why is Linux telling me that my processor is only 497Mhz? I'm also running WinXP on this laptop and windows does recognize the 650Mhz processor. Please see the output of cat /proc/cpuinfo bellow:

Any help is appreciated...
Thanks in advance!
