Would work a CPU = Intel Core i7 3770 3.4GHz Quad-Core LGA 1155


Current working CPU = IntelCore i5-2500 3.30GHz Quad-Core LGA 1155
on a Motherboard = Intel® Desktop Board DQ67SW
==============================================

Would work a CPU = Intel Core i7 3770 3.4GHz Quad-Core LGA 1155 on above Motherboard and how to replace the current one ?

Did you read the manual for your motherboard? The specs:

...indicate an LGA1155 socket, as does the CPU:

As far as how to replace it, there are many tutorials you can find online, but if you've never done it before, I'd *STRONGLY* recommend you take it to a local shop and get them to do it. Between problems with the socket, thermal paste applications, etc., it's easy to nuke your CPU and motherboard.

From an absolutely technical perspective, the Q67 chipset doesn't support Ivy Bridge at all. So no.

That said, I've read some threads that people say it DOES work on some boards, so there's the possibility it might. But it's definitely not a supported processor.

Good catch, Timothy Miller, you're absolutely right. Although it's the same socket, only the older i7's are listed as compatible.
