Working out of box wireless networking N-300 USB adapters? (Ubuntu `12.04)
Is there an updated list, or could anybody suggest any current standard N/N300 wireless USB adapters that would work with Ubuntu 12.04 64-Bit? I have played around with NDISWRAPPER and windows drivers, and sometimes works sometimes does not. So if there any adapters that just work with plug n play I can buy that would be great. Even if it is not exactly the full N-300 that my router is, Just "N" would be fine, can't do G because I do a lot of youtube and netflix and other VOD. ...though I couldn't get netflix streaming working in Linux either, but that is another days problem
Loot at this page. From my understanding, the N300s use Ralink drivers which are native to Linux. So you just have to modprobe the driver. If you're on Ubuntu, it should configure automagically.
From what I got from this thread those adapters (or at least some of them) use the Realtek RTL8192CU, which should also be supported out of the box on recent distros.
