Won't get past bios screen
This isn't as much of a linux question as it is a general hardware issue. Every time i boot up the machine with out a ide harddrive connected it boots fine. As soon as i add a know working or IDE HD for that matter, i have a gateway, it won't get past the gateway logo. i attempted to swap out the IDE cable to the mother board, can't think of anything else.
any suggestions?? thanks, Rick |
Have you checked the master/slave jumpers? Can you try another harddrive?

Sounds like your drive went south... to bad.
Try a different hard drive. . . if it works you know what the problem is. And recheck your jumper settings. |
Enter the BIOS, and set everything to default, save and exit. See if that helps.
