I too am having issues with an HP Pavillion dv2700 with a USB Broadcom internal wireless nic under RHEL5. I tried ndiswrapper and several other purported "workarounds" with no resolution. When I do a lspci, I see the Broadcom driver loaded but listed as USB. When I do a lsusb, I don't see the broadcom nic. I tried lsmod and can see the same as the lspci, but when I go to activate the card, I get No Hardware found. My only solution at this point is to purchase a PCMCIA wireless card. I don't have a problem with that, but I am looking for the best one the linux can use/handle appropriately. A different distro is not really an option, unless I cannot make rhel5 work with wireless.
So I pose to you, which PCMCIA card would be the best? I am running the latest kernel, 2.6.18-93.
