wlan in linux


I my room, I have one laptop running on windows 7 and other running on RHEL 5. In both of the PCS, wireless lan is present.

Can I connect one PC from another ??

connect? What does connect ping? If yo ucan ping one from the other as they are connected to the safe wireless lan, then that's the network working.

define "connect" ??? ping? ssh? http? ftp? irc? cifs? nfs? telnet? finger? smtp? imap? pop3?
