Wireless USB on HP Pavilion running Debian
After some googleing, I can't find anything on the wireless card that came with my HP Pavilion desktop. HP's site lists a driver for a Lite-On USB Wireless 802.11 b/g Adaptor. I went to lite-on's site to see if they had a driver different from HP, and there is nothing on their website about even making wireless cards. They only have optical drives listed under products. I can find nothing but a few sites with the window's drivers. Anyone else had any experience with this card?
BTW - lsusb doesn't event acknowledge the card's existence. There is a blank line which I assume is the card. |
What does lspci say about the network adapter? No information there? If you can determine the chipset (not the seller, the actual electronics), it's easier to say where you stand with that thing.

Is this card an external usb or an internal pci card? If external a lot of times there is in very small print on the outside that will list the manufacture of the chipset and model number. As MoonMind says if it is internal the command lspci will list the chipset and model.

lsusb
lsusb is the correct command for listing usb devices.
lspci is for pci cards. |
