Wireless Network
Hi, I'm new to linux and my distro is Fedora I.
My problem now is that I have a D-Link DWL-120 Wireless Network USB Adapter, but I don't know anything about USB under linux, plus I don't know if the system recognices this device or else how to install it. Thanks a lot for your help! |
1.0 Is your card detected
1.1 Plug the thing in and power up. 1.2 from terminal do a "lsusb" and read the result. 2.0 Configure your card 2.1 Use the network configuration tool 2.2 Configure a new wireless connection 2.3 it is a usb card - so it will probably be /dev/sda1 or similar 3.0 Learning about USB under linux http://www.linux-usb.org/USB-guide/book1.html http://www.kroah.com/linux-usb/ 4.0 Learning about wireless networking under linux http://www.hpl.hp.com/personal/Jean_Tourrilhes/Linux/ http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/Wireless-HOWTO.html 5.0 Learning linux wireless usb networking http://www.fuw.edu.pl/~pliszka/hints/wireless.html http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/answers/239 When your done reaing and you've had a go - get back to us :) |
