Wireless lan problems

Ok everyone, I'm trying to setup my wireless lan card and I think the driver is all setup and everything but when I go to neat and try to activate the card I get this error:

"Error for wireless request "Set Mode" (8B06):
SET failed on device eth0: Invalid argument.
"Error for wireless request "Set Frequency" (8B04):
SET failed on device eth0: Operation not supported.

I used this same card under fedora core 1 with the same driver but for some reason it won't work under fedora core 2 with this driver. Thanks in advance for the help.

what does ifconfig eth0 tell you? Is it eth0? If you haven't set the mode, frequence, etc. you'll have to do that. You may need to use iwconfig eth0...try and see what you get.

Try this

what wireless card do you have? I had a problem with a Linksys Broadcom WPC54G and I solved installing the kernel with 8k stacks, because somehow the default kernel dont work with this. Well, go to

www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/

and get your kernel update from there or anywhere else you wish to. After simply install the rpm, restart the computer and now you have to choose the new kernel option for booting, you will be surprise because the wireless card will work instantly. The configuration of that is up to you. You must choose the 8K Stack for that.

Good luck!
