Wireless keyboard problem.

So I've got a Microsoft wireless keyboard and mouse setup that I've been trying to get working with my linux machine. 2.6.9-1.667 kernel. The keyboard is the 1.0A revision. The funny thing about all of this is that they mouse works just fine, but the keyboard won't work for anything. When I hit the connect button it will right click the mouse. If I have XMMS open it will restart the current song.

If anyone else has had this problem before I would appreciate some help.

I assume you are able to log in using the keyboard? So it works as far as being able to login?

no, not even that much, I've got a wired keyboard and the wireless mouse on it right now. The computer won't recognize any keystrokes from the keyboard. It's really weird, I've used this keyboard on other computers and it works great, but not on this computer, I don't know what gives
