Wireless keyboard/mouse
 

I just had a problem with my Logitech wireless mouse. The mouse batteries died and after replacing them I cannot get a response at all. The keyboard is still fine.

It's the Cordless Acess Duo and has been working absoluteley fine sine I plugged it in over a month ago (recognised correctly from boot) yet all of a sudden it's an ex-rodent. Can it really be down to the batteries dying while it was in use?

I'm using Suse 9.1 Personal and am a newbie to Linux.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Just tested it on the misses XP machine and the keyboard works fine but the mouse doesn't respond. Looks like a Logitech problem. Just 6 weeks that mouse lasted!

Did you press the reset button on the mouse or the wireless adapter hub to resync. If it is an old version make sure the dip switches or dial switches is correct.

Logout and restart X. Or do a complete power down and power up.

but got nothing.

I went into YAST as well but after testing the mouse on every setting I still get no reponse.

How frustrating!

My only other thoughts are, are the batteries in the correct way. Are the batteries any good. Are the batteries actually touching the contacts on both ends. You are not using nicads instaed of regular batteries. nicads are a lower voltage the akiline batteries.

Have you tried it on another system?
Have you tried a regular mouse and keyboard on your system?
If reg mouse works then either something is bad with the mouse or the whole thing failed.

I tried it on the wife's XP machine and the KB works fine but the mouse doesn't. Looks like I'll need a new mouse at the weekend.

Sorry to hear that was the final result. Get one of Logitechs wireless keyboard and optical mouse setups with the rechargeable mouse and cradle setup. I have one and love it. Never need to have spare batteries in the wee late hours of the night.

Don't remeber mine exactly but it is over 1 and 1/2 years old. Mouse is a MX700 series. It is black also. Still running on the orginal alkine batteries in the keyboard. I am sure they will die soon. Been saying that for about 1/2 a year though.
