Wireless DL-650+ PCMCIA card
Hi,
I'm trying to configure my PCMCIA WiFi card.
Model is D-Link DL-650+.
I've found somee tips about this card but i'm still unable to work with.
At startup i've an error message when PCMCIA starts.
insmod hint: insmod errors can be caused by incorrect module parameters, including invalid IO or IRQ (...)
in /etc/pcmcia/config
(...)
card "D-Link DWL-650"
manfid 0x0156, 0x0002
bind "wvlan_cs"
(...)
result of command "cardctl ident"
Socket 0:
product info : "Wireless Network CardBus PC Card", "Global", "", ""
manfid: 0x0097, 0x8402
(...)
Looks like that the wrong config is loaded, but i don't know how to correct it.
Any help is very welcome !
Eric

Your don't have a DWL-650, you have a DWL-650+, there's a huge difference. One is the prism2 chipset, which has oodles of support from 3 different driver sets, the second is a Broadcom/TI monstronsity that has no support as TI refuses to release enough specs for anyone to build a driver on. The card is unsupported. Sorry man, there are a lot of threads here about it... one taiwanese company that released a binary only module for it that would only work with the mandrake 2.4.18 that shipped with 8.2, but its not worth having to burnden yourself with a Mandrake kernel that you can never ever change...
Cheers,
Finegan
