Wireless card not functioning on Compaq Presario V2000 running Linux Mint 14 Nadia
Right, so I installed Linux Mint 14 Nadia on my Compaq Presario V2000 laptop. Everything is functioning normally, except that my wireless device won't work. The button that enables wireless internet normally lights up blue when enabled/pressed. My wireless button refuses to light up. The wireless device is a Broadcom Corporation BCM4318 [AirForce One 54g] 802.11g Wireless LAN controller, and I am unable to connect to the internet via Wi-Fi on the computer. I believe that this is because Mint lacks the drivers necessary. I looked for a utility in Control Center similar to the Additional Drivers utility in Ubuntu, and I was unable to locate it. Is Additional Drivers in Mint 14,but I haven't found it? If so, where? And if not, how can I acquire and install the drivers for the wireless so I can connect to Wi-Fi? Any replies would be much appreciated.
Problem solved on restart, after driver install was completed. False alarm. Sorry.
