wireless and cd/dvd-rw problems...

well i have slackware 10.2 with Kde and kernel 2.6.14.7 on my acer travelmate 4654LMi laptop...

#1 i installed the ieee80211 subsystem, the wireless tools v27, the ipw2200 driver and also extracted the firmware 2.4 to the corresponding directory...

the problem is that i cannot use my wireless card, it doesnt show up in the wireless devices, although during booting says "wireless network connection detected"...

#2 my cd/dvd-rw is not on sr0 or something like that... i saw that it was hdb on the dmesg output so i edited my /etc/fstab to hdb... now the thing is that i can only mount it on root... i cannot use my cd/dvd-rw in any other user account...
on my dmesg output says cdrom open failed, and something about ide_scsi module not found...

chmod a+rw /dev/hdb

This type of command let me use my cd-rw as a user, however changing your fstab to read something like:
/dev/hdb /mnt/(whatever) auto noauto,users,ro 0 0

That should work well.
Good luck on the wireless, I am having wireless problems too.
