Wireless adapter not recognized

I have the drivers and everything worked out for my wireless adapter (Dell truemobile 1180) but it is not being recognized as present. Do I have to manually (I'm not sure of a good word but) register it into the system?

Those cards use a Broadcom chipset which last I read, and I can't tell you how long ago it was, is not supported under Linux. Or if it is, someone will correct me.

Do a google search. The chipset is Broadcom BCM4301 on that card.

I have had very good luck with NDISWrapper loading the driver for my Dell Truemobile(1370 I want to say). A short search on these boards for ndiswrapper should point you in a good direction.

Im currently using ndiswrapper and the drivers are set up through that.
