WinTV card works, but no sound

I inherited a Hauppauge WinTV-GO (BT878) pci card. I installed in my RH9 2.4.20-20.9. It has a Nvidia TNT2 using the "nvidia" driver.

I can get both xawtv and tvtime to display, but no sound. My cmpci sound card works fine. For example, mplayer plays videos with sound just fine.

Not sure where to start in tracking down the problem.

Connect a mini-8 cable on the winTV card output to your sound card input. That should do the trick.

Yep, that was it.

Like I said, I inherited it with no manual and apparently miscellaneous hardware.

Thanks

See this page for some more apps for that card,
http://www.linuxlogin.com/linux/wintv.php , especially the tvtime app.
