winmodem wvdial pppd died exit code 16


i got a winmodem on my machine that works well when dialing numbers but when it comes to internet connection wvdial dials phone number then starts pppd but pppd dies with code 16 man page says modem hung up the phone for code 16 what can be the problem?

dunno how but re run the wvdial conf and now dial up works fine but there is one thing that took my attention was modem initilizing string was changed.altough modem was working before.
