I'v recently installed tvtime and ran it for the first time and i managed to get a crappy picture (not b&w through) and a very poor sound, but it still worked, but when i ran it for the second time i got this:
Code:
ubuntu@User:~$ sudo tvtime
Running tvtime 0.9.15.
Reading configuration from /etc/tvtime/tvtime.xml
Reading configuration from /home/User/.tvtime/tvtime.xml
videoinput: Tuner refuses to tell us the current frequency: Invalid argument
videoinput: Please file a bug report at tvtime.net
This is the last thing for me to do to completely move from windows to linux, so please guys help me :/
If more info needed please ask.
Thanks in advance.

hi again,
Assuming you are not lying, you might want to post information on how you made it work. That way other users like you can benifit from it .
I have got three TV cards and on of them is exactly same as yours and i never managed to make it work under linux. other two ( Hauppague bt848 & Hauppague bt878 ) works flawlessly.

Hm... here i made few screens:
Code:
http://img190.imageshack.us/img190/345/19ye1.jpg
Code:
http://img187.imageshack.us/img187/1108/20bm1.jpg
Code:
http://img191.imageshack.us/img191/5804/current21vp.jpg
Quality is poor, but it's better than nothing.
I did nothing special, just started tvtime and played with it's settings. Selected right frequency table and television standart, scanned channel list and it works
here is my tvtime.xml if you are interested
Code:
<?xml version="1.0"?>
<!DOCTYPE tvtime PUBLIC "-//tvtime//DTD tvtime 1.0//EN" "http://tvtime.sourceforge.net/DTD/tvtime1.dtd">
<tvtime xmlns="http://tvtime.sourceforge.net/DTD/">
<option name="DefaultBrightness" value="30"/>
<option name="DefaultContrast" value="40"/>
<option name="DefaultSaturation" value="100"/>
<option name="DefaultHue" value="50"/>
<option name="PrevChannel" value="140"/>
<option name="Channel" value="2"/>
<option name="FramerateMode" value="0"/>
<option name="OverScan" value="3.5"/>
<option name="CheckForSignal" value="1"/>
<option name="AudioBoost" value="0"/>
<option name="AlwaysOnTop" value="1"/>
<option name="QuietScreenshots" value="0"/>
<option name="UnmuteVolume" value="-1"/>
<option name="Muted" value="0"/>
<option name="V4LInput" value="0"/>
<option name="AudioMode" value="stereo"/>
<option name="PalDKMode" value="1"/>
</tvtime>

jongi,
1. Reading configuration from /etc/tvtime/tvtime.xml
2. Scanning using TV standard NTSC or PAL.
Scanning from 44,00 MHz to 958,00 MHz.
