windows burnt CD to linux

Well, I needed a driver for my modem and i was only able to burn it through windows, It is a .gzip file. What do I need to do to my CDrom to be able to unzip it and install? I'm using RH9 and kernel 2.4.20. and the drive is a Liteon DVD LTD163. The drive can read all other CD's ive put in it but when I do a ls command and look in xwindows it says there is nothing there, i dont know what other information you might need, the location of the drive is /mnt/cdrom if that helps. Sorry I'm somewhat new to linux, any help would be appreciated

must be cos' you have not mounted it.(i guess, that was what you meant,I am not very clear with what you have written).you can mount it like
'mount /dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom',assuming that /dev/cdrom is your device drive.

gunzip <filename>

and install
must be

1.sh configure

2.make

3.make install

which is the standared procedure.Any way,you can look in the readme file for that.

hope I didnt mistook your question.

It is already mounted. Yes i know what a gzip file is. Yes i know how to install the driver. The problem is the file does not show up on my CD drive.
