Unhappy win modem in mandrake 9.1


i have a lucent win modem. mandrake couldn't see it. so i installed from www.linmodems.org the binaries for my kernel version. ok, but now? i mean, nothing has changed with the installation of these binaries. please, help me. what should i do to use that modem? what binaries should i install? and how? please help me. thanks a lot.

You install the drivers for the modem, and then pick a nice gui dialer app like Kppp (on the Mdk cd) or use pppd-up and -down scripts to start and stop your internet access.
