Will USB Speakers work?

Hi,
I'm considering spending SGD$18 on a pair of USB speakers, but i'm concerned that they won't work on Ubuntu.
The folks at the Ubuntu forums are not responding.
Does anyone here use such speakers? What was your expierence?

Supplying the make and model might help.

Its like saying will this tyre fit my car, without knowing the details we can't help you.

USB Speakers are to all intense purposes a USB Soundcard and speakers all rolled into one.
