Will the Parted Magic disk eraser save my external hard drive?

I did not know that deleting a partition that contained a few Puppy Linux files would render my external hard drive unmountable. Parted Magic has disk eraser and I am hoping that I can use it to get rid of my dumb mistake. Is this at all possible; and I do I go about it, please? Thanks!!

It can create, delete, re-size and reformat partitions. What do you want to do? Delete the OS? Creating a new partition table will delete everything. Then format the disc any way you want. If you want to recreate the lost partition, that can also be done. Although I have no idea if Puppy could be convinced to use it like the previous one.

Not sure what you did.

Try testdisk or photorec from almost any live cd/dvd/usb.

I inserted my Puppy disk and I was able to mount my external hard drive and delete the files. However there is a 50 Gib lemon yellow patch on the drive. I have noticed other yellow patches after a have deleted partitions. Is the some way to completely erase everything, and then repair, a hard drive using Parted Magic?
